Intern, Viacom (Nickelodeon & BET Networks)
"This summer I've been fortunate enough to participate in two internships within the Viacom corporation. I'm currently interning with Nickelodeon Production in its Events & Original Programming department as well as with BET Networks in its Public Relations department. At Nickelodeon, I assist with competitive research for the upcoming events, such as the Kid's Choice Awards. I also help review outlines and screen rough cuts from episodes of the new season of Degrassi. At BET, I assist with preparing daily news clips to distribute to the entire staff, brainstorm ideas to increase publicity of original programming, such as "Being Mary Jane" and "The Game", and I'm also working on planning and executing a photo shoot for the entire PR team. There's never a dull moment working at Viacom. Ok, that might be a stretch, but the casual environment and welcoming, energetic employees help make each day an exciting learning experience."
